A new ship meets real players, and real players find the rough edges. In the two days after the Modular Schooner launched we shipped a series of focused updates.
Boarding and the camera
Usable boarding ladders now take priority when you press E near the hull. Walking about on deck uses the normal on-foot view; the longer sailing view and mouse-wheel zoom belong to the helm, and leaving the helm returns you to walking.
Weather and motion
- Rain shelter now covers the whole area around the third-person camera, so covered spaces stay dry while real hatchways stay open to the sky.
- Deck motion: survivors — yours and everyone else's — are drawn with the Schooner's pitch and roll, keeping feet planted on the main and lower decks.
- A rendering fault that could throw a large dark shape across the screen was fixed, and the sails stay opaque.
More room to build
Owners and permitted Crew ranks can switch between saved Schooner layouts from the ship menu. The main and lower decks gained more construction positions, snapping points, walls, doorways and railings — all kept clear of the booms.

Small things that matter
- Seawater no longer shows as stray blue strips inside the lower deck.
- Dragging items over hotbar slots no longer collapses them.
- Using DROP on a Sloop or Schooner deck creates a bag that travels, saves and crosses regions with the ship.
- Clearer, more consistent wording throughout menus, construction, flooding, inventory, Crews, raids and death.
