Bows, stamina and survival

Persistent stamina, fall damage, a truer bow aim preview and stamina costs for every swing and shot.

Two releases made the body of your survivor matter more.

Stamina that lasts

Running, swimming and jumping now spend stamina, and walking or resting restores it. When you're exhausted you can't sprint or swim hard, but you can always keep moving. The server keeps your stamina through logging out, sleeping, restarts and crossing regions — time away doesn't refill it.

A follow-up release extended stamina to physical actions: hatchet blows, punches, spear thrusts and throws, and released arrows all cost stamina. A winded survivor can still fight at full damage, just with a longer pause between attacks.

Falls hurt

Drops of up to 3.5 metres are safe. Higher falls cause increasing damage, decided by the server, and deep water cushions a landing. Normal slopes, ship motion and boarding don't count as falls.

Aim where it lands

The bow's aim preview now follows the whole predicted flight of an arrow or thrown spear, with a ring marking where it will land — taking terrain, water, trees, rocks and buildings into account. Weapon speed, range and damage are unchanged.

And on the starter islands, there are now about 12% more sticks to gather.
